FARMINGVILLE, NY — Town of Brookhaven officials have enacted a State of Emergency, banning parking on town roadways and canceling most services on Monday in anticipation of heavy snow and blizzard conditions.

So far, some areas of the region have seen a foot and a half of snow, as the storm continues to slam Long Island.

All Town Recreation Centers, including the Brookhaven Aquatic Center will be closed on Monday, and garbage collection were canceled.

The Town Clerk's late Monday extended hours from 4:30 to 7 p.m. have been canceled.

The town's Work Session has been rescheduled to Tuesday at 1 p.m., while the Board of Zoning Appeals' Work Session scheduled for Monday has been canceled.
