RIDGE, NY — Was a young buck that busted into a bank in Ridge on Sunday afternoon looking for some quick cash?
There's no way to really tell if he was trying to make a buck.
His break-in, so to speak, was foiled by a group of Suffolk police officers responding to the unexpected intruder who naturally tripped a security alarm at the establishment.
Whether he was looking for some money or not, they had a job to do.
Department officials later jokingly said in a Facebook post that they thought the animal might have been "looking for bucks."
The powerful animal crashed through the bank's window and became trapped inside at around 1 p.m., then frantically tried to escape, leaving quite a mess in the process. In police bodycam footage posted to the police department's page, officers can be seen safely lassoing him and guiding him back through a window outside — where he belongs.
The department credited officers Connor Kehoe, Jason Famoso, Shane Matedero, Michael Pitts, and Salvatore Zafonte from the 7th Precinct for helping get the deer "headed in the right direction."
