HOLBROOK, NY — Whole Foods Market is set to open the doors of its 8th location on Long Island — a new 43,000-square-foot store — at SunVet in Holbrook at 8 a.m. on March 5, officials announced Wednesday on the grocery's website.

The store, which serves as the anchor for the spot, joins other locations on Long Island, including Lake Grove, Huntington Station, Massapequa, Jericho, Westbury, Commack, and Manhasset.

On opening morning, customers will enjoy samples from NAVAD Bakers and coffee from Sail Away Coffee Co. The first 300 customers in line will receive a limited-edition tote bag and a Secret Saver coupon featuring savings up to $100 off.

To celebrate the opening, Whole Foods Market will donate food to We All We Got, Inc., which makes regular surplus-food pickups from local Whole Foods Market stores to help prevent food waste and serve the surrounding community.

The nonprofit previously received a refrigerated van through Whole Foods Market’s Nourishing Our Neighborhoods program, which aims to enhance the ability of local food rescue organizations to transport surplus food to areas facing the greatest need.

Whole Foods Market will also provide monetary donations to Pronto of Long Island and Branches Long Island.

The new store’s decor is inspired by Long Island culture with its unique blend of history, arts, and coastal lifestyle. The location’s product assortment features more than 900 local items from the Northeast, sourced with the help of John Lawson, Forager for Local and Emerging Brands at Whole Foods Market.

Features of the new Holbrook store will feature food sourced to meet Pollinator Health Policy to reduce the use of chemical pesticides, and include local items like packaged herbs from Goodness Gardens, Starling Purple Sweet Potato from Row 7 Seed Co., and SnapDragon apples from Hudson River Fruit.

It will also include a specialty department dedicated to "celebrating" cheesemakers and artisan producer, and a curated grocery section filled with exclusive brand favorites and products from local suppliers including Backyard BrineThe Hamptons Honey CompanyBlack Seed Bagels and Loopini Protein Pizza.

The seafood counter will provide expert fishmonger service, ready-to-cook and ready-to-eat meal solutions, and a variety of packaged smoked items, with all offerings either sustainable, wild-caught, or responsibly farmed.

The full-service meat counter will include animal-welfare certified selections, and expert butchers available to cut steaks and poultry to order, made-in-house fresh sausage, and marinated and seasoned meats for quick, and easy meals.

There will be an extensive selection of 290 craft beers and ciders, 85 of which are local to the northeast with local options like Money IPA from Barrier Brewing Co., Wolf Hound Nitro Irish Stout from Flagship Brewing Co., and Dry Rose Cider from Wolffer Estate.

The bakery will offer bread baked fresh daily, as well as everyday favorites, like Whole Foods Market’s Berry Chantilly Cake and brown butter cookies.

The Wellness s Beauty department will include a wide range of body care, beauty, lifestyle, and supplement products.
